Healthy tomato soup recipe ingredients
- Tomatoes 1/2 kg
- Olive oil 2tbsp
- Water 2 cups
- Chopped onion 1/4 cup
- Crushed garlic 1tbsp
- Tomato paste 2tbsp
- Chopped carrot 1/2 cup
- 2 cup stock
- Salt according to taste
- Flour 1tsp
- Black pepper powder 1/2tsp
- White pepper powder 1/2tsp
Tomato soup recipe easy
Wash the tomatoes and cut them from top in 4 halves.
In a pot add water and let it boil. When the water starts boiling add tomatoes, cook on low flame for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, switch off the flame and let the tomatoes cool down.
Then remove the skin of tomatoes.
In blender, add these tomatoes with water and blend well.
In a pot add olive oil, crushed garlic and saute for 1 minute. Then add onions and fry until it changes it colour (approx 2 minutes).
Add chopped carrot and mix well. Then add blended tomatoes in it and mix well. Let it boil.
Add tomato paste, stock and mix well. Let it boil and cook on low flame for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes strain this in a bowl.
Again add this strained tomato mixture in a pot and bring it to boil. Add salt, black pepper powder, white pepper powder and mix well.
Add flour and mix it well with a hand whisk. If it becomes too much thick add water as required and cook for 2 more minutes.
Your healthy tomato soup is ready.
What can I add to tomato soup to make it taste better?
Always add fresh tomatoes in tomato soup to have a yummy tomato soup. When your soup is ready, garnish it with some coriander leaves and basil leaves to have a more colourful and yummy taste.
Add some cream on top of your soup to have a rich creamy flavour of soup.
How do you thicken tomato soup?
Add some cornflour in your tomato soup to make it thick. Bring your tomato soup to boil to make it more thick. Boil until you get your preferred thick consistency.
