Simple homemade ketchup ingredients
- Tomatoes 2 and 1/2 kg
- Garlic cloves 10
- Onion 1
- Ginger cubes 2 inch
- Sugar 200 gm
- Cinnamon 1 stick
- Salt 1tsp
- Vinegar 1 cup
- Red chilli powder 2tsp
- Mustard powder 1/2 tsp
Healthy homemade ketchup recipe
Wash the tomatoes and cut them in cubes. In a pot add tomatoes, garlic cloves, cinnamon stick, onion and mix well. Cover with lid and cook for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, remove the lid and take out cinnamon stick. Pour the tomatoe mixture in a bowl. Then blend it until it becomes in a puree form. After this strain the puree.
After straining, put the mixture in a pot and add sugar in it, mix well. Then add red chilli powder, salt and mustard powder in it. Mix well and add vinegar in it. Again mix it well and bring it to boil. Cook for 40 minutes on low flame until it thickens. You should cook it until the water in it is reduced, it will take approximately 10 minutes. After 10 minutes it's ready. Store in a dry and clean jar for 2 weeks in refrigerator. It is a very easy ketchup recipe which you can prepare in less time.
